And the Winners Are

After all the excitement, discussions, and thousands of votes, the moment everyone was waiting for finally arrived—the announcement of the winners! From cutting-edge airliners to breathtaking sceneries and game-changing tools, the Flightsim Awards 2025 recognized the very best in flight simulation. Some victories were landslides, others came down to just a handful of votes, but each winner earned their spot through the passion and dedication of the community. Curious who took home the trophies? Let’s take a look at this year’s champions!

Your Voice Mattered - thanks for voting!

With over 13,000 community members casting their votes, the Flightsim Awards 2025 were truly shaped by the simming community. And it all started with a bang—almost 4,000 votes were cast on the very first day, spreading the love on Valentine’s Day!

This was a worldwide effort, with simmers from across the globe making their voices heard. The highest number of votes came from the United States, followed by Germany and the United Kingdom.

The results showcased just how diverse the flight sim community really is:

  • The XP Aircraft category had the highest number of undecided votes!

  • On the other hand, the Freeware category saw the most engagement.

  • The closest race? That title belongs to the XP Airliner category!

  • Another nail-biter was the Sceneries MSFS category, where just a few hundred votes determined the winner.

Who’s Behind the Flightsim Awards?

Great question! Is it a secret society of elite simmers, meeting in a dimly lit hangar to decide the fate of the industry? Not quite—but close.

The Flightsim Awards 2025 are brought to you by the fine folks at cruiselevel.de, FSElite and Threshold—a mix of flight sim news veterans, industry insiders, and event organizers who have spent way too many hours in virtual cockpits.

Between them, they cover everything from breaking news to in-depth reviews, keeping the flight sim community informed, entertained, and occasionally triggering heated debates about [….] (insert you favourite topic). And now, they’re teaming up to finally give the best add-ons and creators the recognition they deserve.

So, if you’ve ever argued over your favorite airliner, raged at a botched landing, or marveled at a jaw-dropping scenery add-on—these are your people.

Let’s celebrate flight simulation, one award at a time. (And yes, we promise to be a little bit earlier next year.)

FAQs – Because You’ve Got Questions, We’ve Got (Mostly) Answers

1. Who gets to vote in the Flightsim Awards?

You do! If you’re into flight simulation and have opinions (and let’s be honest, every simmer does), you’re exactly the person we want to hear from. No need for a logbook or flight hours—just cast your vote when the polls open!

2. When does voting start and end?

Voting opens Friday, February 14 and will close on Friday, February 28. That gives you a few weeks to decide which nominees deserve your top ranking—plenty of time, unless you’re a chronic last-minute voter.

3. Can I vote multiple times?

Nope! One vote per person. No doubling up, no strategic voting, no creating ten different email addresses to get your favorite add-on to the top. Let’s keep things fair!

4. How were the nominees chosen?

It was no easy task! The full teams from cruiselevel.de, FSElite and Threshold spent hours (and hours) reviewing the releases of 2024. After much debate, tough calls, and probably a few passionate arguments, we narrowed it down to what we believe are the standout products of the year.

5. Why isn’t [insert favorite add-on here] nominated?

We know the feeling—there’s always something you wish had made the cut! But remember, only releases from 2024 were eligible. If it came out in 2023 (or earlier), it simply wasn’t in the running. And while we tried our best to include a diverse range of nominees, there’s only so much room on the list.

6. Can I attend the award ceremony?

Yes—if you have a ticket to the Captain’s Dinner! That’s where the awards will be presented live. But heads up: tickets are limited and selling fast. If you want to be part of the action, you’ll need to act quickly! As soon as tickets go on sale to the public, we will link to them here.

7. Will there be an actual trophy?

Absolutely! Winners will receive a real, tangible award—something they can proudly display next to their flight controls, on a shelf, or (if they’re feeling extra fancy) in a dedicated trophy case.

8. Is the award show going to be live-streamed?

Yes! The entire ceremony will be streamed so you can follow along from wherever you are. We’ll announce the exact platform soon, so stay tuned!

9. Why is the Content Creator category different?

Because there are too many amazing creators out there, and we couldn’t pick just five. Seriously, we tried—it was impossible. That’s why this category is completely community-driven. Instead of voting on a pre-selected list, you’ll be able to write in your favorite content creator, and whoever gets the most votes wins.

10. Will this be a one-time event or an annual thing?

We’re in this for the long haul! The Flightsim Awards are here to stay, and we’re already thinking about how to make next year’s edition even better. Expect refinements, improvements, and maybe even a few surprises.

11. Will the community be involved in picking nominees next year?

That’s the plan! We’ve seen how passionate simmers are about their favorite add-ons, and we want to start the nomination process earlier next time—with community input from the beginning. Keep an eye out for updates!

12. What about freeware? Does it even stand a chance?

It sure does! Freeware plays a huge role in flight simulation, and that’s why we have a dedicated category for it. These projects are just as carefully considered as the payware ones—because great work deserves recognition, no matter the price tag.

13. Will there be more award categories in the future?

It’s very possible! We’re open to expanding, especially if the community wants it. Maybe more aircraft types, more scenery categories, or even awards for outstanding support teams—who knows? If there’s demand, we’ll look into it.

14. Is there any way to influence the jury’s decision?

Nice try, but no. Unless your bribe includes a fully decked-out 737 home cockpit, lifetime access to every payware add-on ever made, an all-expenses-paid trip to Oshkosh (on a private jet, of course), and a handwritten recommendation letter from an actual Airbus test pilot, we’re afraid the jury remains completely unbiased.

(And just to be extra clear—this is a joke. Please don’t actually try to bribe us. But if you do have a 737 cockpit lying around… let’s talk.)

15. I still have questions—who can I ask?

We’re happy to help! Reach out to us via contact@flightsim-awards.com, and we’ll do our best to answer any burning questions you have.
